Q. What qualifications/training do staff have?
A. All education and day care staff are qualified to Level 3 or above. We ensure that the majority of staff have up to date First Aid and Food Hygiene Qualifications.
Q. What about staff turnover?
A. Our staff ‘turnover’ is relatively low – click on staff to see length of service of individual staff members.
Buttons, our Under 2s facility, opening in October 2005 and we built up numbers gradually. The majority of staff working in this age group have therefore been appointed since that date.
Q. Do you use supply or agency staff?
A. Wherever possible we try to avoid this e.g. by asking existing part time staff to work extra or the Under 3s Manager or Headteacher provide short term cover.
When we do require cover we try to use a small group of staff who have worked for us previously and often. We keep our own ‘supply list’ to help us to do this. Any ‘new’ supply staff are monitored so that we make a decision on whether to ask them to cover in future.
Q. When are fees payable?
A. Monthly, in advance for contracted hours. Any Ad-Hoc (additional) hours are charged monthly in arrears.
Q. Do you accept Childcare Vouchers?
A. We are registered with all the main voucher suppliers including those listed below and are willing and eligible to register with any others.
Accor; Busy Bees; Sodexho; Leapfrog; Care4; Imagine; Kidsunlimited; Mid Yorks Chamber of Commerce.
Q. Is there a reduction in charges for holidays?
A. We do not offer a reduction in charges for holidays for the following reasons: Fees are set at a level which allows us to continue to provide the quality service we aim to offer. We are not a business so don’t need to make a profit, only cover our costs. If we were to make a reduction for holidays we would have to recoup the money by charging more each day. Annual costs to parents would therefore be the same.
